A View from Me

Well that’s the recording of Everyone Quite Likes Justin over and done with. All the recordings were great fun and thanks to you if you came down to any of them. Fingers crossed we have a good show on our hands and I can’t wait for them to be aired. The first one is on the 29th June at 1130am on Radio Four.

Jim and I are now working on adapting one of the scripts (Episode 4 fact fans) for a potential TV script. We are at very early days with it. Part of our deal with the BBC was to provide a TV version of one of the scripts and there is a goal for it. I don’t want to say too much at this point for fear of jinxing it, but we are all pretty confident something else may come out of it.

Jim has just left after a typical writing morning at my house. He drank seven cups of tea, ate several single slices of toast, read the papers and we watched some episodes of TV sitcoms we say we don’t like but secretly we admire. Then he went home. I’m still in my housecoat – maybe that’s what sent him home.

I went to see A View From the Bridge last night at the Royal Exchange. I won’t review because I’m not a reviewer, but I’ll say this. Go and see it. It’s incredible. All the performances were magnificent, hard to single anyone out but Con O’Neill in the lead role is particularly impressive. I’d urge you to get a ticket, you’ll not regret it.

In the programme they announced that I’ll be back at the Exchange after Christmas doing Jim Cartwright’s TWO. Directed again by Greg Hersov. I’m equally excited and terrified at the prospect, but seeing it in black and white has made it seem real so I thought I’d tell you.

Before that I’m on tour in the Autumn – all the dates are on sale now and it’d be great to see you at one of them.

Justin
